Hi, I’m Ozzie, and if you’re looking for a dog who just wants to be close to you, I might be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.

I’m a sweet, mellow guy with a big heart and a deep love for my people. If you sit down, chances are I’m already there beside you. Cuddling is one of my favorite things, and I always want to feel included in whatever’s happening around me. I have a calm, gentle way about me, but I still love to play and have fun when the moment feels right.

Being outside makes me really happy. I love fresh air, sniffing around, and exploring the world at my own pace, so a home with a yard would feel like a dream. I’m not shy at all and meeting new people comes easily to me. I’m friendly, curious, and always happy to say hello. I already know how to sit and give a paw, and I’m pretty proud to show off my skills when asked.

I’m a quiet guy and don’t bark much. I do really well in my crate and go in willingly, settling down calmly without fuss. I sleep through the night and do a good job letting you know when I need to go outside, which makes life together a little easier.

Walks are something I’m still learning. I get excited and tend to pull on the leash, and when I see other dogs I can get a bit hyper. I’m not aggressive, just enthusiastic and eager. With patience, consistency, and a little training, I know I can improve. Loud noises can make me nervous, so I do best in a calm and reassuring environment where I feel safe.

My journey has had a few twists. I first came to the shelter in 2023 after my owner had to move into a nursing home. I thought I had found my forever family after that, but a couple of years later I found myself back here again as a stray. Even with all that change, I’ve stayed hopeful, loving, and ready to trust again.

I’m ready now for a dedicated home, one that will offer stability, affection, and the commitment I’ve been waiting for. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick close, cuddle often, and love you with his whole heart, I’d love to meet you 🤍
